Is it safe for humans to take over-counter pencillin for fish if that is all that is available.

Wow, I didn't know they sold that... All penicillin is the same, and if the other ingredients are safe enough not to kill fragile fish they're safe enough for people, so that would be fine as long as you researched the right dosage.

However, please don't take antibiotics without going to a doctor and making sure you actually have a bacterial infection that it will work for...

I don't think that would be such a hot idea just because fish have a different anatomical structure compared to humans...

I think you should check for human penicillin at your local drugstore and if you don't want to make a trip to the drugstore you should just call them up..or go see your doctor.

The tetracycline sold for fish is the same as that for humans. The dose is different, though.
My father is a pharacist and would advise uninsured people to try this.
