i hit my head on this thing then my head started bleeding i put ice and then put pressure to stop the bleeding then i put some rubbing elcohol on it.but the question is should i go to sleep my friend said ill die!?!?!

If you had no loss of consciousness sleeping is fine you will not die. That is very old advise before the advent of CT. Before the CT scan it was a wait and see approach to head injuries, and that still only applied to persons who lost consciousness. The scalp bleeds alot so even a minor injury seems awful. Your fine.

sit up in a chair and don't lay down until you know you don't have a concussion !
has the bump gone down not that you applied the ice ?
twenty minutes of ice on and 20 minutes off for 24 hours....YES sleep in between applying the ice packs.
PEAS frozen works best instead of ice

That is from having concussions, and is no longer a recommendation anymore, at least according to my radiology professor. As long as you aren't bleeding you will be fine.

i wouldnt go to sleep right aweay no you need to stay alert for awhile and make sure you dont have any dizziness or nausea vommiting this type of thing...anything outside of a big headache then you should go to an emergency room...if you seem fine after an hour or 2 then go ahead and go to sleep

how big is the wound? if it's just a small scratch, you'll be ok, our body will naturally just clog the wound so you won't bleed to death like your friend says.
