It is called SAD or Seasonal Affective Disorder. When you don't get much sunlight, as many people do in the northern states in the winter, you can suffer from this.
I didn't get it until I moved to the north and it is really horrible. But there is hope. You need to do the following; get some Vitamin D suppliments and take those daily with calcium. Get exercise. Get sunlight whenever possible and buy a simulated sun lamp and make sure to sit in front of it for 20 minutes a day.
Watch what you eat; fats, carbs and unhealthy foods make it worse.

Hi beardedoctopus. There is something called "Seasonal Depression". I live in Venezuela. A tropical country which has sun the whole year. We live surrounded by palm trees, sun, coconut and ocean. All these help with depression. Sunlight help with depression. Whenever I am in a 4 seasons country and I go in winter I get depressed. (Dark at 4 o´clock in the afternoon).
To overcome depression there is different things you can do. (Go to a psychiatrist to get diagnosed and maybe he can prescribe meds, do acupuncture, yoga) there is also machines that provide sunlight rays. Find out. Good luck! Argentox2@yahoo.com

at birth, you were flexible and flowing
at death, you will become rigid and blocked
consider the lives of plants and trees: during their time of greatest growth, they are relatively tender and pliant. but when they are full grown or begin to die, they become tough and brittle.
the tree which has grown up and become rigid is cut into lumber.
if you find yourself becoming rigid in the winter by doing repititious and structured exercises will not help you cope with life.
remember this: to continue to grow you must be flexible and flowing.
whatever is rigid and blocked will atrophy and die.
flexible or rigid?
do not become tough or brittle
be flexible and pliant

It could just be cabin fever. We all get it from time to time. Trying going for walks outside, even if its -20, you just need to get out in the sun and make sure to exercise and do things that you enjoy even though transportation might be inconvenient
