this guy and i hav been friends for some time now. we hav a good thing between us being FRIENDS ONLY but lately he's been so strange in his ways. he has been saying he's my bf and then we laugh about that (i was thinking he's just trying to make me laugh?) and that he loves me (ofcourse i interpreted it as love coming from a friend:) especially since he's leaving the country soon. but things are just getting so complicated i'm not sure what to think. it's valentine's day and he's been so nice (too nice:) then later in the day, he says he has a problem but he doesnt want to talk about it. we were chatting like usual until his mood changed for some reason i dont know what he's thinking and he doesnt want to talk about it. it's kinda frustrating i dont know what's up with my friend.

I think that since your friend is about to leave, he's probably recapping everything and discovered that he'll be missing you alot, and he wants to leave you nice memories of him, maybe he's realized he wants more between you two, you should just ask him, if you can't say anything face to face, write him a letter. If its bugging you alot you should settle this before he leaves, or just avoid him until he does if he's wigging you out that bad : )

Either he has evolved from best friends to having a crush on you, or another person is influencing his moods and mind. The latter could be affecting him in both situations. I would say something is up. He may be frustrated because he is moving away, and he realizes he has missed out. I'm not sure exactly how or even if you can get him to disclose the problem. The end result I suggest, however, is to keep it Platonic, since he is leaving and it has no future.

It sounds like his feelings for you run much deeper than you thought.
Now that he's leaving the country, it may be that he is going to miss you too much. He might be thinking he wishes you could come with him.
He probably feels like it's way too late to tell you now, how he feels about you. He may also be afraid of your rejecting him. That would account for why he doesn't want to talk about it. He feels like he would make a fool out of himself.
There is one way you can find out. The next time the two of you are together, say, "You know?...I would love to go with you."
That statement can be taken 2 ways. As a friend thing or a romantic thing. Wait for his reaction. Observe the look on his face and see what he says after that. That way, you will know if he has fallen in love with you or not.
If he says something like, "REALLY?" or "Are you serious?"...
Say, "Yes." and see what he says next.

Obviously there is something going on and something he may be hiding. I'm assuming you don't see him as other than a friend or else you would have asked him what was going on..You need to decide that if your friend might have feelings for you, how would that make you feel? If good, go for it...! If not, then I suggest you hang out just a little less and make sure your friend knows that he is your really good friend and that's it without saying it outright. Good luck.

From what I see, i think he's fallen in love with you. But he's afraid he might ruin your friendship if you don't have the same feelings for him. That's why he's frustrated. You have to give him a sign, if you like him or if you don't. And reassure him that you could still be friends no matter what.

Sounds like he is falling for you. Then to top it all off, he is leaving the country. You need to have a sit-down talk with him. Keep in mind that long-distance relationships DO NOT work. Trust me.

He wants more than a friendship. If he's leaving the country, (ie: Iraq) be his pen pal. If there's real love in the wings, it'll wait.

i think he is in love with you and he is upset about leaving the country and doesnt want to say by but he has to. and he is afraid it will ruin your relationship if he tells you that he loves you. (not as friend, like husband and wife)

He likes you, and realizes he is gonna miss you when he leaves. He is scared, but wants to enjoy the time he does spend with you sounds like.
