My little guy turned one today. I am very excited for what is to come this year, but I have been on the verge of tears all day and faking my excitement because I will miss my "baby". I was just wondering if any other mothers grieved over this loss when their little ones turned 1. I would also welcome any advice for whats to come this year! Thanks!

I cried like a baby when my son turned one, then when my daughter turned one and when my youngest daughter turned one. It's sad to see the baby leaving. But I know from experience, you'll be so happy with the Little man he is becoming.

There's more to being a toddler than turning 1 year old. My daughter was very quick with motor skills (she started walkin at 7 months). So her infant/baby days were short lived. Sometimes I do miss when she'd just eat, sleep, and poop all day. But there's so much to experience now. She runs and laughs and plays and imitates and she actually has a very funny personality. I love her so much. Just try to enjoy every stage, cause they grow up really quickly.

It is a little depressing when they are not a baby anymore. But toddlers are so much fun. They have so much exploring and discovering and learning to do. They have lots of energy and will do anything to make you smile (most of the time). Tantrums start at this stage, so you may get some unpleasant moods now and then, but they pass quickly because there's too much fun to have :)

While I sometimes miss my daughter (now 21 years) being a baby I never grieved over her growing up. I loved watching her grow up. I never felt a "loss" I didn't give birth to my daughter for her to remain a baby.

this is a fun stage, but overwhelming, I can not believe the amount of energy my toddler has, where does it come from?lol.
yes I miss my baby. it makes me sad and proud at the same time when he tells me "mama I do!"... I still want to do it for him.
But when he started talking and noticing things and playing more well I wouldnt give it up for the world, and it will only get better )

I was a little bummed about it for a bit, but before I knew it she was on the run getting into everything in sight, and has became quite the performer (Singing, dancing, and anything else that will get us to laugh) and forgot all about the baby year because toddlers are just as sweet!

No, I can't imagine grieving the loss of the "baby" stage. The toddler stage is SO MUCH MORE FUN as they discover the world!

My daughter will turn 5 in may and i want to cry every one of her birthdays becuase it seems like she is growing up so fast. I even cried on her first day of pre k .
I think every mom feels like that at one point in time

I will miss his baby stage but... I am looking so foward to this next stage too. Plus you want an infant have another baby!!

It's bittersweet you will always fell that way. I know I do with my boys[ 6 and 1 ] but he will always be your baby. So take lots of pic's so you can always look back.
