The best burgers need absolutely nothing.
If you can afford it, go to a high-end supermarket and see if you can find Kobe (also known as Waygu sometimes) burgers. They're usually frozen. Look up the terms if you're unfamiliar with them; this makes the most juicy, decadent burger in the world.
If you can't find it, or don't want to, I like to mix 2 parts ground chuck to 1 part ground sirloin (don't use lean), and I have a little burger press that has a little spiral pattern in it. This maximizes the surface area of the burger and ensures that it cooks as FAST as possible. This is the secret to the best burger. Cook it fast.
As well as cooking it over a charcoal grill. Burgers just don't taste right unless they're cooked over hot coals.
I will occasionally add a dash of worcestershire but only to please guests that insist that their burgers be swimming in something... Up here in Cleveland, it's not grilling weather. So unfortunately I'll have to be waiting until the spring : (

another one is to dice up onion and peppers and put in some worchester sauce and make the burgers and grill as usual. they re flavorful and easy. You can also use lipton onion soup mix, the recipe is on the box. Try using a little ground pork and some soy sauce too, serve with chinese mustard. Good.

Ok here's a yummy one I always use. Grate your onion and garlic in to your mince add salt pepper then chopp fresh basil and coriander and add that to your mince mix well , shape into patties and cook untill it is cooked. I love this recipe it gives a mediterranean flavour, you could substitute the basil and coriander to whatever herb you like. Bona' petit.

I like to put wheat bread (processed in the food processor), shredded carrot, egg, milk, mustard & bayou blast, (or just garlic powder & onion powder) in mine. Sorry I don't have exact measurements cuz the amount of ground beef I use differs sometimes, etc.
