If it's the truth, then why stop saying it? It's better then saying absolutely nothing right? Remember, Jesus said that if we deny Him while we're here on earth, then He'll deny US when we stand before God.

First of all rejecting Christianity isn't all that bad there a number of religious people that are out there which would say the same thing about them selves if they rejected it. So if you choose any religion and all religions say you'll be burned in hell for all eternity for choosing the wrong one, then what is the point in believing in any of them? If they all threaten you with hell what is the moral value in that? I say if they can allow all people to heaven who are Christian, and because of the of difference of creed they burn you for all eternity that there is no reason to bother believing in any of them. Those religions which indorse the concept of hell as a literal place are amoral which is why i'm an atheist. Yet i don't think people be should forced to believe or not believe its your own individual choice.

It does not make "our faith" look weak, it makes THEIR faith look weak.
A "strong" faith is a bleeding faith...a life of suffering and pain, not unlike our Savior's life. We carry our cross and follow Him.
Such Christians who say what you quoted ought to question their own salvation...or their own faith...or their own walk...and consider what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15.
Basically, it says that if we "lived the life of a Christian" though it is a lie, then we are to pitied more than ALL men.
If we cannot say this, it would seem we are living a lie...or our walk with Christ is not what it is suppose to be.
The "gospel" of health, wealth, and prosperity is accursed.
But itching ears just love it!
Buyer beware.

I'd rather live the life of a Christian and die knowing by faith I was right.

I have never said that statement! Because I have personally witnesses the working of His power through His Word in action! There are many who want and desire to know Him on a personal intimate level, but are still in that process, of desire, but this is a good thing not a bad thing! Because DESIRE, which means=OF THE FATHER, is the first position to arrive at, you must enter into that Holy place before you can experience The Holy of Holies, that is the place where He reveals Himself in awesome power and presence. This is a place of confident assurance of Christ in us, and us in Him. Here is where the faith of the saints takes on His giftings and supernatural abilities. Here is where we step out in true faith as a vessel of God, confident that He will do it, when we speak His word of power, here is where the sick are healed, evil spirits have to leave, death has no power to hold us. But this is a growing process, seed, time, and harvest, (Genesis 1:11-12, and 8:22) So, first the seed, then the blade, then the full ear of corn, it takes time to mature, and even the mature enjoy, and decide to appreciate, a lifetime of learning, correction, rebuke (hopefully little of that!) but continuing in faith, increasing in knowledge, unto an ever increasing in Gods free gift of working, moving, faith. So... lets give the seedlings a little space to grow and take in the son, my friend, they'll get there in due season, as they follow in The Spirit of truth, and continue to press into their Lord and savior Jesus Christ, amen?

me3000, the religion of Islam only has one requirement for going to Heaven, which is believing in God and the oneness of God, therefore anyone who believes in God can go to Heaven. Muslims do not believe that all non-Muslims are going to Hell.
Anyway, that saying doesn't necessarily make the faith look weak, it makes it sound really honest actually, and that is quite a brave quote to be said. I respect that.

How does that make our faith look weak? Its an answer to the Atheists argument that God doesn't exist. I'd rather error on the side of caution... there is nothing about that that makes our faith look weak

I suspect there are a great many who believe "just in case, and anyway, it's not doing me any harm," or something like that. They'll never admit it, of course, but it's true all the same.
Besides: Does faith really need to be strong? Wasn't there a parable about faith as big as a mustard seed? Isn't there a story in which one of the apostles says, "Lord, I believe -- help thou my unbelief"? (Sorry, can't remember which one.)

I think believing in something that doesn't exist makes you look foolish!
I put all of my faith into myself, I believe in me, and I do the best that I can everyday. I am a good person, and I know it!
But hey!..... whatever works for you...Someone once said "The man who never took a chance, never had a chance".
