One day or night Harrient Tubman was cleaning or picking cotton or doing something inslaved (under the order of another).

There had to be an 'ahhh' moment that everything changed for her.... she looked around and in her heart she was no longer a slave... she was free! She might have still physically been on the plantation and looked like a slave but in HER mind she was FREE.... she was free before she ever stepped foot off of that plantation.... she made the choice to no longer be a slave...

My question is what do you think her first thought was the moment she was FREE within? Did she look around and chuckle? Did she look around to see if anyone else felt/heard that "ahhh" that she just felt? Did she think she was crazy?

What do you think her first thought was?
Imagine how mind blowing that first second for her must have been when she made the choice to no longer be a slave.....

WOW

The problem with people today is that they don't take the time to apply Philosophy and really think in depth about a matter such as Harriet Tubman's thoughts on freedom. We forget what a gift freedom is because we were born with it. Thanks for making me consider this thought and thank you for doing the same. Harriet must have worn a smile for weeks that nobody could understand.

Harriet Tubman immediatly ran back and freed as many slaves as possible. During the Civil War she became a spy for the North.

I'm sure there is a question in there somewhere. Or is it you had an "ahhh" moment when you realized others had thoughts and feelings. When she decided she was not going to be a slave anymore, her first thought was probably "How am I going to get out of here." Or in your words once she decided she was FREE within, "How am I to get FREE without."

This is a great question and I can't even begin to think of a decent answer for it. If you are really interested in this question you might read about Elie Weisel also.

If I had to guess (and this can be no more than a guess) I imagine there was a range of emotions anger, joy, fear, uncertainty and pity (for her fellow slaves).

I bet she spit in the masters food that day, and muttered under her breath how she will be gone soon.
She probably thought she could believe she was free but it would be too hard to be free physically. It must have been a bittersweet moment

It is a pretty good feeling. She probably did laugh a little. First though was probably along the lines of "I'm not doing this anymore. Who's going to stop me? What could they possibly do?"
