My earlobes have been randomly turning beet red and getting incredibly warm lately. It happens when I am just sitting around most of the time. If I was exercising or something, then I could maybe understand, but I'm not doing anything. I have had ear infections in the past, but it has never affected the outside of my ear. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong with me??

That is quite interesting! Usually, your ears can turn red when you are exposed to blowing cold air- like when you go hiking or boating without wearing a hat or took and the wind blows on your ears while your body tries to supply more blood to warm them up. It may also be some kind of ear infection or cold- quite irritating! I would suggest getting a lab test and a physical exam too- high blood pressure and other conditions may cause this too.

I don't know the answer, but I too have episodes of my right ear getting hot ad turning bright red. I have never found a reason or solution. I am just glad to know someone else has this happen to them also. I thought I was the only one that did this.

That happens to me when I'm tired, stressed, embarassed, or when I get up too fast. [When the blood rushes to my head.]
