If i have highlights, and i dye my hair, will my highlights still be there? I have naturally medium brown hair. My highlights are very lblonde. If i get my hair dyed close to my natural color, or maybe a little darker, will my highlights still be there, just darker, or will they be the same color as the rest of my hair?

the highlights will still be there, just a few shades lighter than the color you are dying the hair to

My stylist does this for me :
every 16 weeks highlights
every 8 weeks dyes my hair a slightly darker brown
so it looks like I have medium brown hair with lighter golden brown/ dark blonde streaks
It looks natural and how nature intended

I have the same natural color hair as you and had some very blonde highlights in it. Then I had a heavier amount of highlights put in and later I wanted to go back to my natural color and when I colored it back to what I thought would be my natural color with a brunette color, the highlights were still there but picked up a more copper color, sort of a red like. I had to wait a month and then I dyed it again and finally got rid of most of the blonde highlights. This was now nearly three years ago, but that is what I remember having to do and what happened. I wished I had left the blonde highlights in, as I think I really looked nicer and I got far more compliments. Hope this will be helpful.

I think that if you dye your hair the highlights will still be there just darker.

Medium brown should cover the blonde completely. I had blonde streaks in my hair and wanted to stop doing it. So I bought brown hair color and it covered it all until it grew out.

The dye will most likely alter your hair color.

no they'll change colors also. but they won't be the same shade as the rest of your hair. it depends on how they will look depending on what color you dye it
