I volunteer for an organization that trains service dogs for people with disabilities. There is probably similar organization near you.

For Therapy
You can do some of this training yourself. Your girl will need basic obedience which it sounds like she has. Then she will need to take a test Canine Good Citizen. Many places offer. Search for it on the Net to get more info.
Then do a search for the Delta Society. This is a service organization that will help you and your dog volunteer together. You'll love it and it's not hard to get certified... just need the CGC.

Now, if you want to train her for SAR (search and rescue), that's a different animal (pardon the pun). Do another search for a SAR organization in your area. It's rewarding work but I have a better suggestion for you. I wouldn't donate her unless you find you can't continue to keep her. The benefits of you having her far outway any other problems.

As I mentioned, I work with an assistance dog program. We teach people to train their own dogs. You can teach your girl to be YOUR asstance dog. She can be trained to alert you for your seizures. If she is really a trainable dog, I'd start with the canine good citizen and then see if there's an organization in your area. You can look at our organization if you want and email us for help. I can point you in the right direction.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

No. These dog mills would dump the puppies after they were 5 or so regardless of whether or not a dog rescue core was there to take the dog or not. And they wouldn't consider guilty about dumping them in less-desirable instances. There is just one factor that maintains puppy mills in trade and that's cash. On account that rescue centers do not in any way supply any type of cash to puppy mills they are not helping or perpetuating them. Correctly, many rescues at the present time honestly require a donation if any one is surrendering an owned dog to them (at least in my field), so most puppy mills are nonetheless just dumping their undesirable breeders on the side of the street. If you wish to undertake a dog from rescue but nonetheless believe like you can someway be assisting and perpetuating a puppy mill (which you would not be doing) then effortlessly make it clear to the rescue you are working with that you do not need to adopt a dog from a puppy mill. Yes, unwanted dog mill breeders do end up in rescue centers. However so do hundreds of pets that individuals conveniently received tired of or realized that they weren't capable of effectively offering for. In my view i would not need to undertake an ex-dog mill breeder both but for absolutely special causes (the shortage of socialization and consistent confinement more frequently than not leads to extreme behavioral issues that require extra work than i am interested in doing...It can be a private choice that i am now not even a bit of ashamed of).

No. those pup generators might want to unload the canine even as they were 5 or so no matter if a canine rescue middle change into there to take the canine or no longer. and they does no longer experience responsible about dumping them in a lot less-proper situations. there is in uncomplicated words one element that keeps pup generators in organization and that is money. because rescue centers do no longer by any potential supply any variety of money to pup generators they don't look to be assisting or perpetuating them. in reality, many rescues presently easily require a donation if someone is surrendering an owned canine to them (a minimum of in my area), so maximum pup generators are nevertheless basically dumping their undesirable breeders on the edge of the line. in case you pick to undertake a canine from rescue yet nevertheless experience like you may want to one way or the different be assisting and perpetuating a pup mill (that you does no longer be doing) then basically make it sparkling to the rescue you're operating with that you do not pick to undertake a canine from a pup mill. definite, undesirable pup mill breeders do finally end up in rescue centers. yet so do 1000's of pets that human beings basically were given drained of or realized that they were no longer able to desirable providing for. for my area i does no longer pick to undertake an ex-pup mill breeder both yet for completely different causes (the shortcoming of socialization and consistent confinement more effective typically than no longer ends up in extreme behavioral issues that require more effective artwork than i'm in touch in doing...it really is a own determination that i'm no longer even somewhat ashamed of).

You need to add this to your other post as "Additional Details" rather than a separate post. Use the icon at the bottom of your question that looks like a plus sign. Blessings

I'm sorry, but would you mind rephrasing your sentence? I am not sure exactly what you are asking. Do you have a dog you would like to train as a therapy dog? Why do you want to "donate" her and to where? Where did you get her?
