I am looking to get into the world of boxing, and I am not sure where to start, how to get in fighting shape, and where to learn.

absolutely agree with the first comment from Rapid F. Goto a local gym, this is an essential first step. see if the sport is right for you. see where you fit into the sport (boxing for exercise/competition).
It's always seems hard/intimidating to walk into a gym, but people are generally very accepting and willing to help.

You should look up on the internet any boxing gyms in your area. Getting into a gym and getting a trainer will teach you everything you need to know. For stamina your going to jump rope, run, run, and do some more running. Your boxing workouts to start will consist of the heavybag, double end bag, speed bag, focus mitts, maybe some sparring if you feel your ready. Maybe you should do a little weight lifting depending on your build (height, weight). Hope some of this helped, good luck!

With boxing you need to be in the best shape of your life. And its not easy. You need strenght and stamina. Weight training as well as cardio. You have to be able to run a marathon and not tire.
