My and my boyfriend decided we wasn't going to do anything fancy for Valentines this year because we are both short on money. We've been together for 7 years. I was going to cook him his favorite dinner and make him his favorite cake. But I wanted to do something else special like a poem or note or maybe burn him a CD. What do you guys think? Do guys even care about that kind of stuff?

Oh yeah, the after dinner "dessert" is always going to be good and going to be the night of his live. That goes without saying.

Yes, people do that stuff. He always does poems for me and he makes me CD's of songs that is for me. And about going all out........I do. Like I said we have been together for 7 years and we are getting married next year. Hell yeah I would tie his shoes too if he'd let me. I have no problem catering to my man because he deserves it. He's put up with a lot with me for a long time.

I just had this discussion with my son. He bought a bunch of things for his girlfriend. She's unemployed. How do you think she will feel when he gives her a bunch, and she gives him a banana...

I wouldn't go too far. A poem is really a cool way to say "I love you", but if you stink at writing, don't do it!!!!

If you are going to burn him a CD, don't go for mush. Go for what he REALLY likes.

Does he like back rubs? This is always a great way to get "romantic" and make him feel special...maybe while his newly burned CD plays???

No matter what, don't go too far. Just let him know what you said here...you obviously love him and want to make him feel special.

Good luck!

PS-- No kiddin' about "last minute"....LOL!

Burn him a CD? Jeez, don't go all out girl. Maybe you could tie his shoes for him too. Come on, do people even do that for each other?

Don't give away the farm if you know what I'm saying.

Its always the thought that counts right? Show that you put in the amount of effort you think he deserves and you'll be just fine.
