2-15-07-I guess I wasn't clear w/my details (I don't appreciate being called stupid from a person that makes assumptions), I didn't leave the scene of an accident prior to being told I was free to leave by the police & the police are the ones that collected all the info. from all parties involved, not me. Matter of fact, I didnt' even leave the spot I got hit in the middle of the road till the police arrived to be able to escorted my way to safety. The police got lied to by the other party, not me, that is out of my control if their equip. in their car doesn't pick this up...It's not my job/responsibility to verify all info. provided to the police it true and accurate. So please don't call me stupid for being a victem of lies that were beyond my control-to those that were possitive & tryin to be helpful & not hurtful...Thank You

2-15-07-oh & for me to be a fake & lie about an injury, would only make me just as bad & deserving of what is happening now...There is a good chance the car is stolen cus it was discovered abandoned @ the scene of the accident, this a.m. I'm not a lier & would never fake something like this. So to even suggest it only would make that persons opinion irrelivant in my opinion and that of the worst answer...The most recent would be considered the best cus of showing concern and honesty.

First contact the traffic division of the police department who took your report. Inform them of your concern about the other driver having provided false information.
Then most importantly make sure your insurance agent is aware that the other driver has given false information. All insurance companies have investigators. Believe me if they are going to have to pay a claim on your car and an medical expenses they will track down this other guy and will sue him personally for their loses.
If officers took a report than you will have the license plate number, vehicle description, and VIN from the other car. It is rather simply to track down who currently owns the car and to find out who was driving.
In the short term you may be out the difference of what you owe on your vehicle and what the insurance company will pay off. Yes this sucks but in the process they will identify the other driver and then you can file civil suits against him to recoup your loses...well that is if the other person has a job or anything you can get the court to seize of theirs that may be worth money.
Hope this helps..but unfortunately this incident is going to be a pain in the rear for you.

If he wrote something, probably it has his finger print. Also did you write down his license plate and vin number yourself or at least verify it if he wrote it? Did you check if there were any surveilance cameras around, including any buildings, shops, roads? Now you have three things to go with. Probably the police can use these information to track him down. Also person like this probably won't have that much money and will refuse to pay even after you take him to court and you win. So you might take this into consideration as well. But if you find him, you might press charge and see if you can put him in jail at least for felony hit-and-run.

You should go after the Police first for accepting verbal information.
He would have to show proof of insurance.
You need an attorney and a Private Detective to find the guy.
Contact Internal Affairs to investigate the bad Policing.

contact the police again and tell them that he falsified a police report that is a crime in itself. see if you have uninsured motorist insurance because that would take care of your car. You should always get that insurance it is not expensive. the police may be able to track him thru the license plate on the car that hit you. i had someone hit my parked car like that and gave false info but my uninsured motorist insurance fixed my car.

Ok, he lied about his insurance, he does not have any, so if you find him, how are you going to make him pay, 10 dollars a week.

And if he had insurnace, thier insurnace company would not pay any more than the cost to total your car either,

Sorry but while you need to find him, they have the car vin and license number so the police can id who owns the car.

You can sue them, but evenif you win, if they refuse to pay, you will have to find thier money and then try to get it.

Well you were stupid to leave the secene...... You fake a LOWER back ache. They make the person held accountable for the accident pay for your treatment. then, you have all right info because he probally would have to prove info. Acually, go to the police office and see what they can do for you. it is mainly thier fault they they got wrong info in the first place. if it was you who got the wrong info.....well then you should be punished. Have a nice day:)

Well, unless you're a professional tracker and have a nose of a dog, if he falsified his information, you CAN'T find him now can you? If the cops can't find him, what makes you think you can?

Report it to the police. This really turns this into a hit and run.
