There is something called malignant hyperthermia -- a rare reaction to anesthesia that can be lethal and does run in families -- but that does not sound anything like synoalases. If you know the hospital's name, you could request your daughter's medical records and find out that way. If it is malignant hyperthermia -- or anything else that runs in families -- it would be important for everyone in your family to know. If anyone related by blood to your daughter ever needs to have surgery, be sure to tell the anesthesiologist that your daughter had a bad reaction to anesthesia that runs in families. Then the anesthesiologist can take precautions.

Here is some more information about malignant hyperthermia:

You have me stumped and I am a nurse, been around for a long time too. Will add this question to my watch list, maybe we can both learn a thing or two.
It does sound like something else to me, like an anaphylactic reaction to anaesthetic where the body's peripheries shut down, meaning the extremities'vessels do not receive blood flow, making it risky to loose limbs from this due to necrosis.
At any rate, I will be watching for the result.

Also, as an after thought, you could be referring to Cyanosis? That is something I Do know about and could help you out with
