You don't understand the meaning of FASTING. Muslims fast for 40 days, that doesn't mean we starve ourselves for 40 days, we don't eat or drink during daylight hours ONLY. When the sun sets you eat all you want!
Suicide is a sin. You would not go to Heaven.
We fast to know the plight and suffering of the unfortunate. It's not a "short-cut" into Heaven as you so nicely put it. If you are a bad person and you fast once a year don't think that just because you made fast you're going to go to Heaven. It doesn't work like that!

Everybody fasts, not just Christians. It's a universal "strategy of ecstasy" to open us up to spiritual things. And it works, BTW. But of course, people interpret the results depending on their religion. A Christian who fasts strictly in Lent will have different experiences than a person who goes on a vision quest guided by a Native elder.

reason its a sin !!! in the event that they kill themselves then they wont have the potential to covert greater peeps Plus once you die you watch for judgment day you do no longer flow without delay to heaven. Then on J' day then you definately are judged then heaven or hell comes. So its greater effective for them to relax right here in the international till at last their defective perception happens

the only way to heaven is by faith in Jesus, that He is who He says He is, and that He died to redeem our lives. everything has a cost, and the the cost of sin is death, Jesus died so we dont have to (spiritually) fasting is not a short cut to heaven. that would imply that you can get to heaven based on what you do (works), and not by what you believe. Ephesians 2:8-9 "we have been saved through faith not works" (that is very simplified)

It is a way to attempt to witness the Transfiguration like the three Apostles did. They simply hallucinated.

Well, Jesus ... if you fasted for 30 days with the intention of killing yourself ..... you'd be right back to suicide!

hahaha.. that's a good one.
scientifically, though, fasting would theoretically prolong life, as long as it's not extensive and you dont develop and ulcer.
