my computer goes through numerous updates a day, sometimes back-to-back. we have gotten rid of everything possible yet my internet is very slow, my fan in the tower is constantly running and my actual sign in screen has came on and it still updates. Does anyone know how I can fix it or what's the problem???

try start>run> type "mscongif" select selective start up. go to services. click hide all microsoft. you can disabl most of the things in here. search them to find out what you need. next go to start up tab. do the same thing. click appy tehn ok. resatr. your machine should be a lot faster now.

also, have you considered what is updateing? maybe you could uninstall some of those things, or set them to update early in the morning when nobody is using teh computer. you didn;t give any specs, but it might possibly be time to upgrade. for the fan in the case, you could get an after market one. they are more efficiefnt and quieter.

Maybe you have a spyware infection. It's worth checking. The best anti-spyware is CounterSpy. Get yourself a free trial and see if that helps.
