i sit next to him in my computer science class i've tried asking him for help but i don't ant to come off as a stupid girl.

Just be yourself. Obviously if he sits next to you and doesn't mind it, he likes the real you already. You don't have to sound stupid, treat him like anyone at first to make it easier to talk to him (flirting helps but you can mess up)
Just don't be nervous and TALK TO HIM! let him know you're interested so he doesn't think he may be wasting his time whether he likes you or not (he might...)

Simply ask him for his opinion about a question that you're very well versed. Let him talk to you as guys are flattered by asking their views and opinions. You could snake bite him by saying: I hadn't thought about that specific way. Keep smiling and rapid fire ask another view. At this point don't disagree unless his answer is totally off the wall. If he wants to talk after class fine if he doesn't silently walk away. At first let him pursue you not the other way around.

Think of intelligent questions or comments to make at home when you are calm. Practice asking and saying them. That way you'll have them ready when you are nervous.

ask him what he likes to do. ask him about his taste in music, tell him a funny story, laugh about some idiot in the class. just small talk with him every now and then and you guys will end up talking.

First, put your nervous in control, look his eyes, while you ask him any question. Remember a real smile... all the time. Show him that you are sure of yourself.
