I actually go for the shorter. I'm like 5'10 so that is not hard to do. But there are some girls that are 5'11 or 6'0. Most girls tend to be kind of short. In the 5th grade its another story but lets not get into thet.

Since women in general are shorter, most will end up being shorter. That's just statistics. But then again some people prefer taller girls. Women in general find taller men attractive. But some girls prefer shorter men. Statistics again. And many men find tall women attractive. You and I find shorter women more attractive, though personally I wouldn't ever keep something so inane as height from keeping me from getting to know someone. Believe me, there are far more serious deal-breakers than height. 'Course I find that it's more difficult to dance with a girl who is taller than me and dancing is important to me.
Honestly, I don't think it matters. But due to evolutionary reasons women tend to prefer taller men. I'm not so sure about men's preference in women though since most super models are tall.

They're most likely being prejudice and ignorant. I'm not sure why, but when many people nowadays spot a man and a woman together, they automatically assume that they are a couple. It's not like you are able to control your overall heights, it's not quite something materialistic or tangible that you can remove or alter just to "fit in" with society's "standards" - if you even want to call it that. Why is it more "acceptable" in society for the man to be taller than the woman? Where is the rationality behind that? Who set that "standard" and why? Now that I think of it - there really is no correct answer for any of those questions. As I've stated before, it's more likely than not just prejudice. Ignore their ignorance; the people who speculate before actually getting to know the actual person are not worth anyone's time. The friendship between the two of you is all that matters; don't let it be disrupted or altered because of other people's opinions.

well.. from a girls point of view, we generally like guys taller! i personally like mine 6'0+ because im 5'6"... although, the cutest guy at my school (excluding my best friend cuz he's adorable in a little boy kinda way) is only about an inch taller than me and usually i'd say "nuh-uh" but i'm willing to make an exception. however, my cousin is 5'10 and his girlfriend is 5'11.. so it really depends on the person.

well yeah...i'm tall and is kinda hard to find a guy taller than me...anyway luv is luv no matter the size...i guess girls look 4 taller guys just 4 this safety feeling or something like tht

Im 6'1 tall, i prefer my women to be shorter than myself, say no taller than 5'3, tall thats just what i like but everyone has different taste.

It really comes down to the person themselves. When you really like someone, you don't notice if they are taller or shorter then you.
