No problem it is a weird idea but anyway....
pet your baby and pet at the same time that way he will know you still love him...

Hi! This is a serious question and should not be taken lightly. First your dog should not be allowed into the baby's room now or in the near furture. Why because it will think it is his. You will need alone time with the new baby and he must understand that. For now start teaching him that baby things are off limits. That means blankes, pampers, bottles ect. drop one item and start to tech him it is off limits. Do not introduce the baby to the dog for the first few days the baby is home just let him watch and listen. When you think it's time let him come and only sniff the baby's blanket. Then back him off. Do this for a few times until you feel comfortable in letting him explor the baby more. Never let the dog and the baby be alone together and never put the baby when he can get at it. Next is letting him know that he is still very important to you but the baby is too. He will learn it's your job to protect the baby and it's his to love it. Pacients thought out is the key. Dont rush the dog. Good Luck

when you are in the hospital after having the baby send a blanket or article of clothing home that the baby has been wrapped in or warn and let the dog sniff it and do whatever it is going to do with it. it will have the dog used to the scent by the time you and the baby get home. also have someone else bring the baby in the house when you do come home and give your pampered pooch some attention right away so that it doesn't feel like you are replacing it with the baby.

Take careful action. Introduce dogs to baby noises and smells beforehand, always watch interactions! Hold your baby and show your dogs it's something you care for very much. Don't let them be jealous and get in between, but don't ignore dogs when with baby. Teach baby that dogs are special too. Bulldogs can make great family dogs.

If you have any friends with kids (or baby) have them come over and spend time with the dog. When you finally get the baby home, make sure you keep an eye on the dog when it is around the baby. Sometimes they aren't so nice.

get a stuffed animal and pamper it , if it shreds the toy, beat the dog.
