You are on a battlefield… you must save your comrades that are behind enemy lines. Except for one thing—you might not come out. You might get caught. Do you retreat back to base or do you save your comrades as this may be your last chance but last time if you don’t come out.

Being a soldier myself I would say you do what your squad leader orders you to do.If you are the squad leader, then you have to make a decision on to move with your remaining soldiers. If it is 50 to 3 ratio, then I will not kill my remaining soldiers in vain.We as a military have the resources for further options. No soldier is ever left behind whether alive or NOT!!!

Hypothetically, one should not risk a 50-50 chance in saving another when the odds are neither here nor there. This is because when you're in, another comrade might be force into a same situation like yours to save your butt. Stacking it all up mathematically, a one to one exchange is just a draw (neutral), why should one bet in the first place.

I would need a scenario. But if we were in a city and our troops were pulling back to base but there was three wounded soldiers 5 blocks down, I would try to gather a small squad to go rescue them. No soldiers left behind, even if it does require getting killed to save there life.

There is no way to answer this question because it depends on the actual scenario and circumstances.

well, since i'm gonna be a marine, it is U.S. Marine Corps tradition to never leave a man behind. BTW, I won't get captured cause i'll fight to the death for my fellow men.
