I have to get the two bottom ones and a top one. I am just going back to school and was wondering how long it take to heal. And how long it will hurt for. I am scared of the dentist to beging with so he is sending me to a surgeon to be put to sleep while he pulls them. They don't hurt yet, but he says that in time they will, and that I need them out. Please help! LOL

usually it takes 1 week (more or less) to heal, provided that no infections have occurred and u keep your mouth clean, it will hurt alittle the first 3 days ( it might take more, depends on the case) but it's no big deal, you shouldn't get worried, just have alittle faith in your Dentist, he knows best!
( keep your mouth clean by using warm saline mouth wash, it's antiseptic and soothing fo the wound)

WHen they actually take the tooth out it doesnt hurt. I just recently got two molars taken out. They do a good job numbing your mouth. You dont feel any pain, strangely you might feel the tooth coming out but there is no pain. Now after the numing goes away.. you do feel a little discomfort in the area but you will be just fine. Take some tylenol and no medicine with asprin because that thins your blood and makes you bleed more. It takes about a week to heal to dont eat spicy, drink out of a straw, no alcohol, or no mouth wash that contains alcohol. Your dentist will tell you what to avoid. You dont really need to get put asleep to take teeth taken out. Just relax and let them take care of it. They should make you feel comfortable.

AHH, it doesnt hurt. Your mouth is numb and tylenol will take away any minor discomforts. You may have deep pockets where the wisdom teeth were for a while, but in time, they get smaller. It's better to get them out now then later when they start to hurt. I had all mine pulled and I'm glad.

I have to get mine out soon, and I have been doing reasearch. Just google things like "intraveneous sedation" (which is what you'll probably go under to get them out) and "wisdom teeth pulled" and things like that. You'll find lots of things that will calm your nerves somewhat. I'm still scared about it, but from what I hear the actualy procedure doesn't hurt, and as long as you dont get dry sockets, (from sucking on straws, etc, right after they come out) the pain while healing is minimal!
