Pick one or more of these numbered things, and say why God created it?

1) Cancer
2) AIDS
3) Homosexuality (not saying it's bad, but...)
4) War
5) Negative emotions (anger, jealousy, sadness, etc.)
6) Hunger
7) Not enough widespread clean water
8) Drugs (pick one)
9) Physical and mental defects (again pick one)

Okay so if your answer is going to be "we did it" explain then why God doesn't intervene, I mean in the Bible he intervened a lot, especially in wars, why doesn't he win the Iraq war for America? And he supplied manna for the Isrealites in the desert, but he can't supply manna to those poor INNOCENT orphans in Africa?

Or if you want to answer something else, how about all of the horrible things humanity has done in his name? Like making people pay money for their sins, isn't greed bad, why would he allow this religion to flourish. And when did he stop wiping out false idol worshippers?

Pick a question, it's a regular smorgasboard.

All bad things come from Satan, the hurts in this world, the negativity, etc...all good things come from God. As for your question about why God doesn't intervene...that is a great question! We can't know why God doesn't always intervene, but there are reasons and God has good reasons. For example, if God intervened and fed all the people in Africa, do you know that their economy would suffer because that is a primary source of income for people who live there...is food? Or, maybe God doesn't intervene when someone goes through a difficult experience because he knows that that experience may bring someone closer to knowing him. As for the unfortunate things that humanity has done in his name...all I can say is that people aren't perfect. Sadly, many people misrepresent God's name and what Christianity is all about. So, I apologize on behalf of them, but that is not what the world should be like. And as for your last question about why he stopped wiping out idol worshippers....did you not see what happened with Hurricane Katrina? Don't you think that had something to do with the years and years of idol worshipping at Mardi Gras? Even if God doesn't wipe people out now for what they have done...he will judge them at a later time when he comes back.

first of all, God sometimes lets us go through hard times so we can get stronger through them and makes something good out of them. in the bible, he let a bad thinghappen to Joseph so that he could save thousands from the famine. He could see why God was letting him go through his hard times, but he trusted God and let him handle everything. It turned out Quite well for him in the end and for every one else.

the nine things you listed occured when Adam and Eve took the fruit from the tree. In the bible, it shows that God gives the humans, Angels and animals (to an extent) Free will. Even though He knew that Adam and Eve (and Lucifer) were going to make the wrong choice when he put them in the garden, he still created them and let them live in the Garden.

God still intervenes in wars and any thing else humans and his other creatures do. The war in Iraq may look real bad now, but in the end it will work out. Yu just have to trust God and leave the war in his hands (that doesnt mean to get out, just not to worry about it).

There are missionaries in Africa and other parts of the world helping these orphans and they are doing a lot to help many of them. besides, no one is innocent. the bible says that we are sinners when we are born. the only way to come clean is to accept him and repent.

Humanity has done a lot of wrong in his name, but if you notice in history, there has always been some people who follow his word and do the right thing. God has used these people to fix the problem humanity has caused. EX: Martin LUther and the Roman catholic Church basically selling repentance.

Take your last paragraph (how about all of the horrible things humanity has done in his name? Like making people pay money for their sins, isn't greed bad, why would he allow this religion to flourish. And when did he stop wiping out false idol worshippers?) and you have your answer to the others.

God tried the interferring thing but, obviously that wasn't doing to much, or we would have stopped sinning at that point.

Kinda like that loser drug addicted friend that you grew up with and you go out of your way to help, and let stay at your house, Once he's cleaned up his act a bit, you get a job for him at your work by vouching for him. But then he pulls a no call no show and steals all the petty cash from the office, and robs your house. You just give up one him, and hope he works stuff out on his own. Every once in a while you wonder what he's up to and if he's ok, but everytime you check in on him, only to find out he just keeps making things worse and worse for himself, so you keep your distance, even though in your heart you really want to kidnap him and throw him in to rehab and for a few years til he's 100% better.

I don't ascribe to any religion, myself, and am 100% agnostic, concerning God. But this is a common and oversimplified viewpoint.

I expect the arguments you will get will be something along the lines of "God gave us free will to do what we want. He doesn't force us to do what he wants. We are responsible for our own actions." While I completely disagree with that, and see upon inspection of causality that free will is ultimately an illusion, anyway, I can't disprove it. There are countless possible explanations. What if the being we know as God isn't really all-powerful, only much more powerful than we are? Anything else any religion has ever said about him could hold true. We can't know. But what you put forth does no more to disprove God's existence than rainbows and baby ducks prove that he does exist. Trying to understand what a being that powerful does, and why, would be like a dog trying to understand why its owner leaves it home alone every day. Yeah, we know. He/she has a job to go to. The dog doesn't understand that. That doesn't make it any less necessary, or mean that there is no explanation. Don't try to apply human logic on a godlike level, it's pointless.

I think God gave all creation fee will and has an ultimate goal that is too incredible for the human mind to comprehend. It says in the bible that the devil was an angel. In fact, it says he was the most beautiful angel in all of heaven. Eventually he turned against God because in all his glory, Satan was jealous of God and thought he was just as good. So he has used his gifts for bad and turned the world evil.
It also says in the bible not to test the Lord. After he sent his son to the earth he felt that it was enough to prove his miracles. So it all comes down to faith. You either believe or you don't. It's that simple.
I used to curse God. Literally!
Then I found my self face down in the land of pain and needed a way up. So,I tried this whole "God" thing desperate for relief. I saw a incredible change in my life. I actually started to recognize God helping me through life. You know, like, I could see the things he was doing to help me. No one else gave a sh*t but he found away to get to me and better my life. Just because I tried to believe. I'll never turn back now.
Life isn't perfect but man, it sure isn't nearly as scary.
Sorry.... I kinda went off the subject but that's my take on life and why God wants us to be free to love him....not forced.

The question asked was why God doesn't intervene. He did. He saw that our sin was too great for us to redeem ourselves. There were none righteous, no not one. We were all dead. So he had to intervene to save us. He sent his own son, Jesus, down to earth to take our sins upon him. You might try reading Revelation Chapter 5 in the bible. Only Jesus was worthy.

Then read Isaiah Chapter 53 and you will see that Jesus took our sins, yours and mine, upon himself. There is no greater love than that a man would lay down his life for his friend.

We are to humble ourselves as little children, looking to God for the salvation that he has already carried out.

God has said he left the wheat growing with the chaf only for a little while, lest any wheat be lost. Hang in there. The day will come when God will sort it out. Will we be ready? Or will we be lost, cursing God. In the book of Job he always hung in there, trusting that he would one day see God. He never gave up, and never cursed God.

Anger at such above heartache is righteous anger, but it should be directed to Satan, and not to God.

All of those are a result of sin. None of those are His creation. They are consequences of sin, we are currently under Satan's government. Occasionally in His mercy, God does intervene. You would be blown away if you could see how much God is restraining Satan in his destructive ability. There would not be one human being alive if Satan had his way. Bad things happen, and they suck, but we look forward to the day when all of this will end. And God will start over and make everything new.

Yes we did do this to our selves. God wanted us to have freedom to make our own choices would you want him 'intervening' on every bad choice you made? Making bad choices teaches us lessons and makes us who we are. We would all be perfect if God made our decisions for us and all earth is, is a test to decide where you spend eternity. Heaven or Hell. So what would be the test if you don't get to take it? I find myself questioning God all the time, but while many answers will be revealed through studying his word, most you will have to wait for that knowledge in heaven.
God Bless!

God did not create evil, but He created angels and humans with free-will, the ability to choose between right and wrong. Satan, who was one of God's angels, chose by his free-will to disobey God, and so did a third of the rest of the angels. They were all cast down to the earth where they now tempt people. Satan tempted Adam and Eve and they chose also to disobey God. God made them leave the garden of Eden and God cursed the ground. Evil exists because of Satan, the demons, and us humans. Suffering exists because of sin. Not everyone who suffers deserves it though, for example see Job in the Bible. Also, people's sin against God negatively affects other people. We can be thankful that God is merciful toward us and that He doesn't wipe us out because of our sin. God offers us grace in Jesus Christ. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life."- John 3:16. In Heaven there will no longer be anymore death, suffering, or pain. www.equip.org
