Yes its safe, those side effects listed are extremely rare and the doctor checks your blood before and every month when you take it.

Those effects listed are mainly from the trials involving people testing it (they were not sure what blood types responded badly to it when it just came out while they were doing the tests).

Even Tylenol and other such drugs have "serious side effects" in some of their trials (though rarely).

"However, it is estimated that acetaminophen (tylenol) poisoning results in 56,000 injuries, 25,000 hospitalizations, and 450 deaths every year." I guess tylenol is dangerous as well..

I doubt you will have any problems other than dry lips and dry skin, which goes away after you take it. I took it, my brother and cousin also took it. No problems. Take it, it is the Michael Jordan of acne drugs. Seriously.

It is mostly safe, but there are definite side effects. Your doctor would do a blood test before prescribing it to see if you can handle it.

I took accutane for a long long time about 18 years ago. I have chronic unexplained joint pain. All my doctors say it is unrelated, but I really wonder.
