Generally, juvenile misdemeanor offenses aren't looked at too harshly. Does depend on the offense. Violent offenses, drug convictions, and DUI will raise an eye brow or two. You can explain them away with, "I was young and dumb, and learned my lesson."
Very much depends on what you can offer the department. Just your warm body isn't enough anymore. Get a degree in Criminal Justice. If your department offers "Ride Along" programs, sign up for some. Any volunteer work you can do with the department gets you noticed and appreciated.
Good luck.

It depends on the severity of the offense. They say that your juvenile records cannot be opened for viewing after your 18th birthday...that is b.s. You would be surprised what a savvy background investigator can turn up. 10 years is a long time, I recommend that you stay out of trouble in your adult years. If it ever came to the point of you reaching a final interview, just explain the circumstances behind your behavior and explain how much you have grown up. I would think your chances are just as good as anyone else's.

um 17 means you were a juvenile so they are sealed and they cannot access them means like no record and almost all departments ask have you been convicted of a felony since turning 18

It depends on the policies of the department to which you apply...but, from what you've described, I don't think you will have a problem with many departments.
Thanks in advance for having a desire to serve society in a generally thankless but extremely dangerous job where a large portion of our population hate and despise you just because you are a cop. My hat's off to you.

Two misdemeanors as a minor, you're record should have been expounged, giving you a clean slate when you turned 18. If they're still on your record you can go through the process of expounging them. I doubt it matters anyway, it's felonies you have to be worried about.

"Maybe" is the best answer you can get on here. There are many factors involved - what were your crimes, what is your record like since then, how desperate is the PD for new recruits, what will the rest of your application look like?
Good luck.

You should be cleaned by now...
One way u can find out is to apply for ur firearms id card at ur local pd, if all is well you get it. If not you need to look into it.It only cost like $50.
I did take in NJ.
