Why is it that when you fall pregnant everyone congradulates you and tells you that ALL pregnant women glow? yet no one tells you just how unglamorous actually being pregnant is, what with the flatulance, walking like a duck, backache, swollen ankles etc......?

Wow, I so sympathise re the being kicked, punched and tickled with tiny toes. Before my first was born I swore he had at least 17 elbows and knees. He used to do star-jumps at 1am till he got too big. Then he used to wriggle around in the small hours of the morning instead, kneeing and elbowing me in the ribs (which hurt!).
I got so sick of this treatment that one night at about 2.30am I snuck down to the freezer and wolfed down a bowlful of ice cream. You could actually see the creature twitch and squirm as all this cold stuff landed in my stomach, just where he'd been digging his bony little bottom into. (Well, they say revenge is best served cold!)

Seriously, apart from giving you a laugh, I just wanted to say that being a mum beats being pregnant any time. Bumps don't cuddle you. They don't tell you they love you best in all the world.
They don't offer you crumpled daffodils on Valentine's day.
So ((big hugs)) re the unglamorous bit and :)) big smiles looking forward to your baby. Though carrying them still gives you backache!

I think you will see and feel that glow, when they put that baby in your arms for the first time.
We can see it now, but wait, you will soon see what we all see in your face.

I glowed with my pregnancy, my greasy skin was so shiny and i got spots that rivalled rudolphs nose.

Ha-ha, I know that part really sucks, but it's totally worth it at the end.

Cos they don't think thats what you want to hear, and to be fair thats mainly true. When your really happy you don't wanna be brought down!!

Because if they told us the truth then we wouldn't have kids.
