NO!!!!!!! I can't stand seeing so many people on the phone while driving, in stores, eating in a restaurant, right before a movie starts in a theater.... you get the idea.
I do think that they are great and are an essential part of how our commerce and communication has evolved.... BUT WHAT CAN'T wait for you to get in from a night out, finish shopping or driving, enjoying your meal which you are paying above and beyond your food budget for, a movie with a friend... and certainly not if you go to visit someone.
Just because we can talk to everyone and get our information instantly, doesn't require us to lose touch with tact, courtesy and other social skills.

It's a fad...I mean in the next 10 years there will be something else to replace the cell phone...I don't think we have a choice but to accept it and move on with out lives. Plus when that Apple i-phone come out, who knows what will happen.

No, and people are addicted to cell phones, if they arent on them they are flipping them open to check something or fiddling around with them. When people are bored like while on the bus, or on break or whatever they start thinking of people to call and its really f*cking annoying. Noone really needs a cell phone, everyone only thinks they do. What they really need is a life.

When they are on the phone, quietly leave their presence and go lie down in your room for a much needed rest. When they are done, they will miss you and try to find you. Then go out and resume entertaining them. If they get a call or call out again, repeat the same thing.

i think there is nothing more rude than visiting with someone and they stay on their cell phone. also hate it when you are trying to get service in a store and they ignore you while on the phone.

NO. I can't understand why people do not see how rude it is to be "connected" when they should be giving you their attention. When did it become so important not to miss a single call. That's what voice mail and answering machines are for.

I know, it's kind of rude. What the hell is wrong with people these days? People that do that are often self-centered.
