Diverticular disease is probably the most common cause.

Other causes might include:

o Appendicitis
o Perforated Peptic Ulcer (Duodenal Ulcer)
o Parasitic Liver Abscess
o Pancreatitis - pancreatic pseudocysts and infection of these
