I would suggest that you try to fun FF in safe mode. Failing that, try re-installing (uninstall/re-install) the program.

Failing that, try downgrading to 1.5.x.x

Need more info. Does it crash when Yahoo Mail is open? Do you have Yahoo Messenger loaded? If yes, keep reading.

The latest Firefox always would crash on me when I visited my Yahoo! Mail. One possible reason is the bug caused by the stand alone Yahoo! Messenger application. The Yahoo! Application State plugin must be turned off for Y-mail to work properly.

Try the following:

(1)Type "about:plugins" in the Location Bar of your Firefox browser and press Enter. A list of installed plugins should come up.

(2)Look for "Yahoo! Application State" ("npYState.dll") in the installed plugins list.

(3)If the file is listed, close Firefox completely. Open the C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\shared folder then rename the file "npYState.dll" to "XnpYState.dll". This will disable the plugin. Messenger will still work normally.

Restart your browser and test your Y-mail. Good luck.

There is probably some add-on that is messing up. I was having that problem a while ago but it stopped all of a sudden. I probably updated one of the add-ons but I'm not sure which one did the trick. Try updatig the Firefox program and the add-ons you have.

crashing is not a common problem with FireFox. If it does crash, it's a sign of a much bigger problem. Re-download FireFox, that should solve the problem.

Try reinstalling. One of the configuration files might be a little screwy, or there's an unhandled exception.
