There is no age of accountability in the Bible.

Original sin is original sin.

And also:

Leviticus 21:16-21 (New International Version)

16 The LORD said to Moses, 17 "Say to Aaron: 'For the generations to come none of your descendants who has a defect may come near to offer the food of his God. 18 No man who has any defect may come near: no man who is blind or lame, disfigured or deformed; 19 no man with a crippled foot or hand, 20 or who is hunchbacked or dwarfed, or who has any eye defect, or who has festering or running sores or damaged testicles. 21 No descendant of Aaron the priest who has any defect is to come near to present the offerings made to the LORD by fire. He has a defect; he must not come near to offer the food of his God.

Anyone whether they are a child or someone who is so "far gone", that they are unable to understand would go to Heaven. God is not cruel and He is a fair judge. Many people who are mentally challenged have a great love of the Lord even with their limited understanding. You do not have to be a rocket scientist to understand the love of God.

Many people see mentally challenged children(special)as indigo or angelic beings, absolute good souls with automatic entry into heaven and sent her by God to make the world a more peaceful place. I feel this way also, I've never met a mentally challenged person who I did'nt think was special.

No one is too far gone to understand what a relationship is, in fact, mentally retarded people understand this simple, honest concept more than those with higher ability.

Since a relationship with God is all you need, I'd say they're in the race, and they're in it to win.

The holy books have a hole here. "Touched" people were often considered sacred and left along. If they were violent, then they joined the fertilizer pool. Today they are still an uncomfortable subject. Alzheimer's disease has added to the pool, but then those diseased folks were once alright and one can only assume they were right with their particular religion.

Heaven and hell are the same place. There is just an afterlife. What you take with you is your own reward or punishment. The mentally deficient have no baggage either way and have a "free ride".

God will understand if they don't know what religion is, they would have to go to heaven because they would be just like babies, not understanding anything, and all babies go to heaven because they don't know about religion or anything, and God loves them anyway.

If your heaven is so bent out of shape about people being of the mental capacity to accept religion, then I'm glad it doesn't exist.

Yes, they go to heaven. mentally challenged is only a category that we put each other in. God is not a respecter of man so He doesn't see "mental challenges". By His sons death we are healed in His eyes. We are saved by grace.

If you were forman on a job, would you give instructions to someone who wasn't able to do the work?
Those going to Heaven are well educated in doing God's work, since they spend nearly all their life doing it on earth.
The Holy spirit communicates with them, and there's no doubt who they are, and what they will be doing.
Put aside the preachers who lie to you. The truth is in your bible for all to read.
If you can't find it in yours, get help.

i think people would say yes because they're innocent like a child. or you could use the argument that if you know about god and accept him then you go but if you don't know your sill considered innocent. Which makes for a funny joke amongst native Americans how all the missionaries basically condemned them to hell.
