I agree so much. I often wonder why it would be such a travesty for Jesus to have married. If it's impossible for him to still have created so many miracles were he married, then He must not have been great after all.

Read the "Davinci Code"' eh? Based on the Bible, which is the Word of God, Jesus was not married, nor did He have a relationship with Mary, other than as her Friend and Savior. Jesus was mortal as well as God and He came for a specific purpose, which did not include a wife. His time here was for one reason and one reason only to redeem mankind. While on the cross Jesus instructed the apostle John to take care of His mother Mary after His death. He does not mention anywhere His concern for a wife. People like to romanticize about Christ and it just is not there.

I think it's because it's hard to go througha courtship, and marriage without "sinning", even a lustful thought is "sinning." But really if Jesus was married it shows that the Bible has omissions, or as a whole cannot be trusted, and we can't have that now can we.
For the guy above me, where did it say she was a prostitue again? Oh that's right, have YOU read the Bible.......man I love saying that to Christians.
Also, when Jesus was resurrected who did he go to first......Mom? His buddies? Nope his girlfriend, just like any good whipped man would. Oh and he was a rabbi and rabbi had to be married. Sure Jesus was a bit of rebel, but why would he wait until 30 until preaching (another jewish law) if he wasn't going to follow another one?
Too many holes too little time.

Well it wouldn't matter much now if Jesus is married... It is completely acceptable, he is still a great man..
To my belief, the church didn't want to believe this back then is that it'll give rise to power to the women of history. I mean, the church back then was dominated by males. And lets face it no one wants to be wrong. The church has installed beliefs of an immortal man along with his great teachings and principles, if thus secrets are to be revealed its entire principles and code will be destroyed, making the church look corrupt and a wrong religion.
Back then the church was powerful and tied to the nation's political affair.. A crackdown in its control would destroy it along with its goverment. One such example is Luther's protestant movement, which spawned terrible wars and division and Europe.. The church kept this much a secret or denied its truth in fear that their downfall would bring utter chaos.

Why would you think that Jesus' supposed marriage was written out of Christianity? It can't be written out if it wasn't there to begin with. The 'lost books' that purport that theory were written hundreds of years after Jesus,by Gnostic pretenders. The Council of Nicea did not try and cover up those books, nor did they decided which books to canonize or not.The canon had already been widely accepted by the early Christians, and they regarded the Gnostic books as nonsense. The Council only made the canon official.
Why can't people accept that not all people want to be married, and some people are perfectly happy to stay single? Why can't people put their conspiracy theories to rest?

According to the gospels, Jesus never married.
When Mary washed Jesus' feet 5 days before the last supper, there was no woman there to get jealous, and no controversy over the event.
Peter was the one who spoke up, and he complained about the cost of the ointment, as if THAT was the issue at hand.
(If Mary was married to Jesus, the ointment would have belonged to Jesus and Mary jointly, and Peter would not have complained about the woman but about Jesus. Perhaps they also would have paid her more respect instead of treating her like the prostitute she was.)
You have to make up evidence out of thin air to arrive at the conclusion that Jesus was married, and it's easily refuted. I've given you only one episode.

No, It would ruin it all! He was mortal, but He was not only mortal, He was also Holy. The Almighty YHVH created this world very good. Once man sinned, he could no longer meet the requirements of YHVH. Because of His great love for man, He sent His son the Savior. The Savior's name means YHVH is my Savior!--YAHOSHUA! The only way one can have his sins taken care of is to invite the Savior in to carry them. If a person chooses to remain attached to their sins, they will be consumed in the cleansing fire the Almighty will send to cleanse this world so He can make it new! How could the Almighty be more generous? He was not a fine man and great teacher, He either was the Son Of YHVH or He was a raving lunatic

Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene, and had a daughter named Sarah, who was born in Southern France (that's why there are so many Catholic churches in southern France in honor of both, the Magdalene and Sarah).
That he was married should not (and must not) change the way people believe. His message is ONE and the same. Marriage doesn't change it.
I am not a Christian anymore, but I came to this conclusion many years ago when I was studying in college to be a minister. (I almost get kicked out from the Christian College in 1984 because of my thesis about Jesus marriage to the Magdalene and their daughter Sarah). Freedom of Expression is not something Christian Colleges observe.

Sorry, but Jesus was not married.
If you are trying to say that He was "just human," but still want to call Him a "great man," you are deceived.
C.S. Lewis said it this way:
Let's not have any of this nonsense about Jesus being great and good, but still just a man.
If He were great, but not God, then He could not have performed the signs and miricales the Bible records to His credit. If He were not God, then He is either a liar; because He claimed to forgive sin when He really did not have that power or authority. If He claimed to be God when he was not, then He was as crazy as the man that claims to be a poached egg; in fact our best padded cells are reserved for those deluded into thinking that they are God (or Jesus). Or else He was who He claimed to be, the very Son of God, with the authority and power of God to perform miracles and to forgive sins.
However, let us not have any of this nonsense about Him being a great man, or even a good man.

It would not matter to the protestants. Just to the catholics and the vatican. They have invested years of keeping pedophiles in hiding, and they do not want to admit the rest of the world that they have been wrong for 2000 years. The "no women" rule doesnt work because it goes against human nature.
