Dying your hair isn't SO bad. The first time. Afterwards, if you keep dying it, it is bad for your hair. Highlight is about the same, but not as bad. Needs alot of touch-ups. Doesn't matter where you get it done, the hair dye still has the same effect. Might want to buy shampoos to prolong the color of your highlight or dye job. I forget the brand, but I know they have shampoos for that.

dyeing your hair too often can make your hair dry and it also depends on the chemicals used to dye your hair. When lightening your hair (ie using bleach) can damage your hair more than dying it in a color closer to your natural hair color. I also hear that salon products tend to be gentler than the harsh chemicals sold in the stores (ie Lo'real). To prevent further damage, avoid heat styling the two weeks after dying your hair and if possible, put your hair on treatment.

do you like your hair now? If you do get your hair highlighted bring in a picture of someone's haircolor you like. Then make sure to get highlights and lowlights so it doesn't look fake. If you have really thin hair that breaks easily I don't suggest doing it.
But if you need change try it! You will look good :).

you ought to bleach it for proper consequences. Your hair is black, yeah the probabilities of it showing up are narrow to none. And if it does look, it is going to likely fade particularly quickly or instruct nasty. How do i recognize? I easily have the Asian black hair and that i have dyed my hair blue in the previous w/o bleach. It diminished way too without delay, even though it somewhat confirmed up in the first position. actually, on black hair, you'll opt to bleach it to get actually any colour on (till you're death it brown or something). also, Manic Panic has more than a number of colorations, yet they fade interior of a month or so besides, so if you're gonna bleach, attempt a diff variety. there is purple/magenta colour by technique of Loreal Paris called colour Rays. those, you dont opt to bleach and it is going to look more desirable sensible because i have self assurance it already includes somewhat of bleach in it. i have used the fuschia/magenta one and it ended up fading particularly quickly into purple (like 3 weeks for me), so.. yeah lol.

Yes. Using dye in your hair does exactly that to it: it dries it out and makes it die. Do you feel like touching it up every week too as your roots show? Have fun!
