Canada is very different than the U.S. as far as being able to get jobs without the proper documentation and/or "under the table". In other words, no, it is not easy to get a job illegally in Canada. Best to go through proper channels to get the documentation that you need to make it legal.

No I must say it is not as easy say as it would be in the States..Canada has a very tight tax system so it is very hard to get jobs which pay you under the table, There is a very small black economy in Canada,But do not let me put you off there are seasonal jobs picking fruit etc so you should visit an embassy and check it out...good luck

Unfortunately, it is not that easy. You do need a visa - there is a new program with HRSD where an employer who wants to hire low skill workers (waiter, painter etc...) has to get approval from the Human Resources and able to prove that they can't find anyone in Canada to do the job. they also have to pay for an open ticket for the immigrant, find a house, paid for health care and transportation. if approved the employer goes to immigration office in their country and applies for the visa, if they are a painter (example) they need to prove they have experience as one, and if they are working as Waiter they MUST have a good command of English. Hope that helps!

Working in a restaurant: no. I've worked in restaurants, had/have a good number of friends who do, and I've never heard of anybody working in one illegally.

Picking fruit is undoubtedly a different matter, though.

And landlords don't care where you're from, if that's what you're wondering.

There are many farmers who would sponsor you for picking in late summer. In Ontario there are many apple orchards that bring in people from the
West Indies every year for picking and many other picking jobs for many other crops.

If you are sponsored, it is easy to land and get a job. But otherwise, no. Sorry about that.
