Tax return in multiple state?

I hold the driver's liscense from NJ. So, my primary address is NJ's address. But, I worked through out the year in CT and lived in CT. May be technically, my address should be NJ (doubt). But I don't have any NJ state withholding. It seems there is no standing to file NJ tax return. My question is do I have to file tax return to both CT and NJ? If yes, is there any ways to avoid filing NJ tax return?
I am in F-1 status and working on CPT.

If you're living in CT, you need a CT drivers license. Once you set up residence in a state, you must get that state's drivers license, generally within 90 days.

Maintaining a NJ license COULD cause NJ to claim you are still a legal resident of NJ and assess tax on your income there. Since you don't live in NJ, you do not need that hassle.

You can also get a citiation for living in CT and not holding a CT drivers license.

Dude did you work and live in CT for that whole year? If so and you did NOT perform any work in NJ then you aint gotta file a return in a state where you didnt live or work for that year I would think.But if you aint sure you could call the NJ tax peeps and ask them. If they do give you an answer I would suggest you get their name in case anythang goes south. If you catch my drift!
