I have been diagnosed with bipolar depression, I now take 500 mg. of depakote in the morning with 150 mg. wellbutrin. In the evening I take 500 mg of depakote and 200 mg. of zoloft. In the last four months I've been having tremors, is that because of my medicine?

Yes, this could definitely be a side effect of many psych medications. It is called Tardive disconesia. Depakote needs to be monitored, levels checked. You should see your MD as soon as you can.

First of all, yes... Bloodwork, bloodwork, bloodwork. Lithium and Depakote levels need to be monitored. Also, I was diagnosed Bipolar almost 10 years ago. I cannot take Wellbutrin any more. When I was on it, I became very shakey, with terrible tremors, not to mention it made me semi-manic. I was taken off of the Wellbutrin, and my lithium dosage was adjusted. That's a nice (high) dosage of Zoloft paired of with that Wellbutrin. I wouldn't be surprised if that is in fact why you have tremors, but I'd see your DR and check out your levels first.

Just in case: I don't know how old you are, but If your DR even reccomends Propranalol (inderal) for the tremors (as a side effect medication, in case it is the combination, not the Depakote, and he doesn't want to make changes)... please ask for an alternative... both my cousin, and myself were given that to help with tremors, and we both had dizzy spells, I've fainted because of it, and it causes irregular heartbeat. You don't want that, trust me.

There at the instant are not area effects to being bipolar, bipolar is the area result. ingesting is in simple terms going to make it worse. while you're severe and feeling good, the alcohol will improve it and make it seem greater effective than ever. And whilst it subsides the low would be worse than ever. while you're all waiting low and you turn to alcohol, it might desire to be very low, lots so as which you're able to be satisfied to sober up lower back. while you're chum is set to drink all of the on a similar time as understanding they're bipolar there in all probability isn't something anyone can say to lead them to do in any different case. If it is going undesirable, all of them waiting knew they're bipolar, why did they do it interior the 1st place(?) And that's the way of the bipolar. as quickly as the temper contraptions in, that's annoying to tutor it off. that's a rollercoaster and not something stops the rollercoaster, there are in simple terms days once you appreciate it greater. And there are days once you appreciate it much less. and then lower back, there are days once you in basic terms stay sober.
