i have a ford mustang and it has a a4ld in it and i was wondering if there was any other trans that would work the same without haveing to do some major overhualing thanks

Here is a link that should help you. It looks like there is two other automatics that will work. You should be able to put a 4-speed w/overdrive in it also. Just find a mustang in a wrecking yard somewhere that has the clutch pedal. You will need the clutch pedal, and the slave cylinder and the shifter. Any way, here is that link

If You Are Saying A 4cyl Look For Similar Cars In The Ford And Mercury Line Older Models have the same trans in them it's usually a C3 but some have a C4 if it's a newer model with quick disconnect lines you will have to change the fittings on the trans where the lines go look for cars like ford fairmont and mustangs and mercury capri's with 4cyl engines if it's a V6 a C4 from the same models with V6's in them will work PS you may have to change the bellhouslng it's the part that bolts to motor careful when you remove bolts not to pull out pump

go to beter business bureau.......ask if they have any good recommendation,s for local transmission shop,s.......if they do....contact them....ask their opinion about this..they can recommend a tran,s that will fit & live up to your personal need,s...most shop,s will give you ..at least core credit for your old tranny......hope this help,s.....good luck!
