If you don't have any styling products in it, leave it alone. The oils on your scalp will help protect it from the perming solution.
If you do have products in your hair, wash it but don't shampoo your scalp much. Concentrate on the ends of your hair and only shampoo once (don't rinse and repeat).

A perm lasts and has a better result when your hair is dirty. Usually the salon washes your hair anyway so you won't have to.

I would leave it alone, the natural oils in your hair protect your scalp from the chemicals

Girl NO!!!!! DO NOT TOUCH IT!!!!!!!!! When you get the perm it'll be just fine if you don't touch it!!!! If you wash it, scratch it, or any thing it will hurt.
