Toss and start over. I've never found a way to get rid of the burnt taste. Go to a hardware store and get a heat diffuser. It's a round disk that fits over a burner, and spreads the heat out evenly. They're a lot cheaper than buying a professional cookware pot.

These methods are stopgap if you really can't start over with fresh ingredients, and they work best if the chili isn't too badly burned.
Try simmering the chili with a couple of peeled raw potatoes for a little while. Sometimes the potatoes will absorb the burned taste.
Or try adding a can of crushed tomatoes, some sugar, and a little Worchestershire sauce. That will help disguise the scorched flavor.
Turning the chili into chili-mac with some cooked macaroni might help, too. Pasta has a way of evening out flavor imbalances and problems.
Good luck. . .hope that it tastes better!

SOMETIMES...if it is just scorched, try to remove the chili to a fresh pot leaving the scorched bottom in the original pot. Careful not to scrape up any of the goo.
Also get the scorched pot cleaned out right away to get that smell out of the house; otherwise you will keep tasting it.
Sorry, didn't see your last line.
Maybe adding a spice or two of a different recipe might perk it up or counteract the taste. (not peppers) Something like more cumin or a teaspoon of vinegar/or sugar or more tomato sauce. ?

If it burned so bad as to have the scorched flavor throughout the pot, then the whole pot is beyond help. You did exactly the right thing when you caught the problem, but were just too late. Next time make the ol' man make the chili, as men claim they can do it better anyway. Then if it gets burnt, you can rag his azz forever.

Sorry to hear the chili bite the bullet. There is no way to add enough flavors to take away that burnt flavor. God knows Ive tried on a few occasions. Once a burned bean flavor hit the food its a done deal. well maybe add a little more chipotli powder making it hotter may fool the taste buds a little.

If the chili is purely commencing as much as adhere to the backside of the pan, do no longer scrape it. the sole component of which would be scorched is what's caught. as long as you do no longer combination the burnt into something of the pot, you ought to have the skill to shop it. Pour the unburnt component of chili into yet another pan--greater ideal that or no longer it is a heavy one so as that it will no longer burn--and swap down the warmth. If each thing tastes burnt, you will possibly have the skill to rinse the beans and meat and initiate off over, yet that takes away all the flavour. If I had to do this, i might purely initiate over. you will on no account recuperate that scrumptious style. whilst you're cooking with dried beans, undergo in recommendations which you will possibly be able to desire to prepare dinner them devoid of salt till they are gentle. as quickly as you upload salt they do no longer soften any further. additionally, in case you soak dried beans they'll prepare dinner speedier, do exactly no longer prepare dinner them interior the comparable water you soaked them in. One final concern, previous beans take an prolonged time to prepare dinner. We prepare dinner beans continuously and we invested in a stress cooker. Beans prepare dinner in approximately 40 minutes in a stress cooker. previous beans can take almost 2 hours interior the stress cooker.

Beans are not very forgiving when it comes to being burned. You need to make a new batch of chili.
