The rental place told me that the table will fit 8 people tightly. I don't want the tableclothes to be too short, too.

80" would fit but having a 100" would be better, it will be look much better and will fit the table perfect giving it enough room. Being to short will look dorky and not nice. Legth is best so go for the 100" but the larger the table cloth more money, so if you dont have that much cash stick with the 80", it still will be fine.

60 Round Tablecloths

I own a country club and handle all of the wedding planning.

You can go in two different directions...

1. You can get a floor length round cloth which for a 5 foot round table would be 116".

2. You can get 2 each 85 inch square tablecloths and put one over the top of the other so that the four points hanging down are staggered and not directly overlapping. This is what we do here. The purpose if this is to hide the ugly metal legs of the table.

If you get a cloth any shorter, you will end up seeing the legs underneath the table and it looks very unattractive. You will look into your reception and see a "sea of ugly table legs."

You don't want the tablecloth to touch the floor. Because people will step on the tablecloth, people will sit on them, and they can get pulled to the point that items on the table (dishes) will be pulled into someone's lap. The ideal size of tablecloth will drop so that the hem of the tablecloth is grazing an adult's lap when seated, and I think that's 12-18".

I've read online that 120" is what you'd use for a 60" round table.

70 inch round is a standard size and will give you a nice 5 inch drop on all sides. just enough to look nice but not get in the way of people while they are getting settled.
if you want draped to the floor you should probably get 100 - 120 inch round and thats going to be tough! even if you can find them they will be very expensive.
sorry

80 inches. We just had two weddings and that's what we used. The drop should hit right above people's laps when they sit. The rental place should have told you this.

80"
The table cloth should tell you want size it fits on the back... or the company your buying them from should tell you.
