Baby Ruth candy is not named after a baseball player the company loves that credit It is really named for President Grover Cleveland's daughter Ruth. I know of no other candy named after a player.

Baby ruth candy bar was named after Ruth Cleveland, the daughter of President Grover Cleveland and not Babe Ruth the baseball player. This is a common misunderstanding.

"Baby Ruth" was proportedly not named after Babe Ruth, but after Ruth Cleveland, President Grover Cleveland's daughter (though the story is dubious; the bar came out during Babe Ruth's rise to popularity and some people believe the company making the bar, the Curtiss Candy Company, made up the story about Ruth Cleveland in order to avoid paying royalties to Babe Ruth). However, I understand there was once a bar named a "Reggie Bar" after Reggie Jackson.

Babyruth and Babe Ruth are NOT the same..........The candy bar was NEVER named after Babe Ruth, the famous cocky baseball professional from the mid 20th century........the candy bar was named in honor of Ruth, the (then) baby daughter of Grover M. Cleveland, our 22 AND 24th president........He served two terms, but not back to back...........Only president to have been voted in twice..........But, then again, if you research TRUE history, George Washington was really our 8th president, in the true sense of what "president" of our newly formed country came to mean..........Interesting, huh??? There were seven before him, they just aren't mentioned in history (as they were formerly all CROOKS) So, proud Americans, our country was really founded by a bunch of crooks that got kicked out of England for their nasty deeds................I'm drifting, the only candy bar that I can think of is the one that had a short stint in the candy aisle, the Reggie Bar, named after pro-ball-er Reggie Jackson.....

Only 2 I can think of,
Ken Griffey
Reggie Jackson.
Baby Ruth was actually named for President Clevelands' daughter Ruth. Oh' Henry was not named for Hank Arron either, but after a school boy teased by many to do chores for them near the candy store. "Oh Henry, can you...."

Reggie Jackson used to have one named the "Reggie bar". I don't think it's made anymore. Jose Canseco has one named "Butterfingers". That's all I can think of.
