I want the good poker chips not plastic. Clay or acrylic. Also, can I get them in a gaming store or is it better to get them online?

You could go to a casino but they'll rip you off. I'd check ebay, yahoo! shopping, or and store's clearance.

I've searched for and bought many sets of poker chips. Believe it or not, the best price I've found on a set of high quality chips was on Ebay. Depending on what type of chip you're looking for, I've seen prices vary from as little as 20 cents per chip to over a dollar per chip. Clay chips, although very nice to play with, are not necessary. A nice set of chips can come in the form of a clay resin with a metal insert, which adds to the weight.
Also, there are many sellers that will customize your order. They will offer any amount of any color chip that you like. The advantage to this is that you can assign each chip their own denomination, rather than mixing all the different colors and having only one value for all of them. This makes for a more realistic and enjoyable poker experience for everyone.
This is just my suggestion, but my best advice would be to just shop around. Good luck!

I myself bought my chips on line at gamblers general store in las Vegas, they have a website of the same name and they sell everything to do with gambling in Vegas and more. I paid 86cents a chip for good quality casino chips, they even will make you custom chips if you like as well.

I bought mine online. Went to yahoo, searched "purchase poker chips". Got many companies selling them. I asked questions about their quality and had a 1/2 dozen examples sent to me. I bought the ones that were the most casino-like. They were about $.45 each (not cheap!!!)
