I absolutely wish I could have time back. I have only myself to blame for not investigating matters deeper.

Let's ask the reverse question. If you were dying and suddenly realized that God does exist, how would you feel?
I will tell you one thing. What you did with your life would suddenly matter. But if what you asked was true, it wouldn't make much of a difference to me when it came to looking back on my life. Why? Because I will know I had lived the best I could, and had been happier than I would have been if I hadn't believed what I believed. But if what you were saying is true, if we just cease to exist, what does it matter what we believed anyway? On the other hand, if God does exist, that brings a whole new level and meaning to life, doesn't it.
As far as your claims that anyone who believes in God is a paranoid schizophrenic, if that were the case, everyone is one. Including those who don't believe in God. The physical proof that he does exist is astounding, and yet so many refuse to see the evidence and believe otherwise. One being the order an the variety of nature. Evolution does not account for it without God being there, nor do other theories that take out God. Then there are the millions who've received answers to their prayers. Are you going to call every single person who's had this happen crazy?
Denying the existence of God is to some degree like looking at the sun and refusing to believe that it is there. It's so obviously there and true! Yet why do you refuse to believe it?

Hello Lungfish Tiktaalik.. :)
To make a long story very short..
I grew up an Atheist..I used to hate Christians..Then at the age of 28..I asked Jesus into my heart..He broke the bonds of drugs, hatred and anger in my life..
For the first time in my life I felt "Truly" Loved, forgiven, wanted and accepted..
The emptiness within was gone..worry and doubt was replaced with Unspeakable Joy .. :)
So if when I die and I find out God did not exist..then I have lost nothing..because my life has changed for the better..I help others, instead of hurting..I pray for others instead of finding fault..
I have a peace that passes all understanding.. :)
"But if God does exist" "what have you lost".. :(
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

I'd feel a whole lot better than if I were dying and suddenly realized that I was wrong and God does exist (which incidently, I know He does). Much safer to err in my favor than in yours!!

Well, no one can "realize" there is no God while they are alive. They can believe there is no God, but they can not know for certain. It wouldn't be until we were supposed to meet God that we would realize there is no God. However, if there is no God, and is no afterlife, then upon death we would realize nothing. So to answer your question, in another way, if there were no God, then I would never know it. I'd die knowing that I believe that I will see Him once my death is final, and thus I'd die happy. And then there would be nothing...

I've suffered through massive clinical depression where I wanted to die everyday for three years. My body was eating itself away, I could hardly move, I've already been dead in many ways. I'm healthy now, but because of what I've felt, what most could never imagine, I know longer fear death.

Sorry, not possible. God does exist and I have not spent my life condemning others to hell. Quite the opposite actually.
