I have the most beautiful, down to earth mother!, with a great sense of humour and a career woman. My mum is so warm and giving and sexy to boot. Yet she has been single since my dad left. How can I help her meet someone?

First of all, does she want to meet someone? I would just encourage her to go out and do some new things. Maybe join her up in a club that strikes her interest. The main thing is, make sure she is ready to go out there, she may be content with things as they are right now.

PS...I think it is extremely sweet that you think so highly of your mom.

High fives to you and your mom! It's great how you love your mom and recognize all of her good qualities when so many kids these days fail to do so. When I was a single mom, my boys (i don't have girls) were so overprotective, they would want to beat someone up for flirting with me.
You may want to find out first if your mom is ready and willing to start dating again. She may just be enjoying raising her children and working right now, and may not be ready to jump in the dating scene. It's sort of scary to start all over, especially after a bad marriage. It's very good if a women feels, secure, and happy with herself without a man, before she dates. So many women feel they aren't complete without a man beside them...it's almost a "need". This doesn't seem to be the case with your mom, though. I would just talk to her and see what her feelings are on it. I bet your mom is really proud in having you for a child.

I hope your mother knows how great a kid they have. Anyway maybe your mom is not ready to meet anyone yet? You didn't mention how long it has been. Why don't you sit your mom down and let her read your post and all the answers people give. And/or just sit down and talk to her. And last but surely not least. Say a prayer for your mom and let God take care of it for you.

Has it ever occured to you that she is happy? With all of the good things you have said about her .. it seems that she just might be happy and content being single for right now. If there is a way to search each others posts.. please look at mine.. I just answered a question that addressed my own gorgeous Mother being single since she and my Father divorced... she is happy and isnt looking for a relationship. Maybe this is something you should look into yourself about? Is it bothering you more than its bothering her?

Well that's really up to her. She has to be "ready" to meet people. But you sound really thoughtful.
