After you take a paper towel and clean up what you can, take hot soapy water and scrub the floor. make sure ALL poo that can be taken off the carpet is off. Otherwise you'll have a big mess. I use a firm scrubbing brush when scrubbing the carpet (I have a puppy so sometimes she has some accidents also!)
After its all scrubbed, I use febreeze to get any lingering smell out of the carpet.

1st of all are we talking about a pup, a older dog who has probs
holding it, or a dog what hasn't been properly trained. in general
u should try to scoop it up asap, do not just wipe, try to scoop it from the outside to the inside, that way u won't spread it further than it already is, mk. a mixture of vinegar & water & start spotting the soiled carpet. if that does not wrk. u might want to try some harsher method, there are some great carpet cleaning products either in stores, or your vet could sell them. if its a pup
wrk. w/him, or her cause no way is it normal for a healthy dog to
soil its den, i had a old dog & he just had health probs, but in
general a healthy dog should not do "business" on the carpet
good luck

I use Simple Solution stain and odor remover...works way better than Natures Miracle. It smells better (unlike natures miracle which smells like rubbing alcohol, not very safe around pets) and gets old and new stains and smells out. I buy it by the gallon and clean my dogs crates with it, wash their beds and blankets in it. Pour it right into the washing machine, and it works like a charm! I also add just a tad of my regular clothing detergent ( Reg. Tide) and no softener! It makes dogs itchy (mine and several other I know had allergic reactions to Downy Softener). check out the page I posted below for some FAQ on Simple Solution...Hope this works for you! :)

next time it poo, collect it on a piece of paper /newspaper place it somewhere near so it can see it. Continue it three /four times. A time will come when it will realise that it needs to poo on the newspaper. So u can place that newspaper elsewhere. It should work

Jungle Jake Degreaser/Industrial Solvent. Buy it at the hardware store, pour it on the spot and it will get out just about anything.

I have some Resolve made especially for pets. It seems to work pretty well and you can find it basically anywhere.
