Do Englishmen have a word of honor? Do they mostly mean what they say,if they would say something or promise something?

Englishmen are like men & women the world over. Some are honorable, some are not. Some mean what they say, some do not. Some don't even know what they mean . . . I've known good ones and not so good ones. One must look to the individual and their past actions rather than generalize. Hope your Englishman is trustworthy (if you have one and that's why you're asking this question.)

This isn't the 16th Century mate. Everybody is as dishonest as the next guy, or truthful, it all depends on the person and the situation, no different in UK than anywhere else, with the exception of some un-namable countries who we wont talk about.

Like all steriotypes, it's just not true. Englishmen are no more honourable than anyone else. Why should they be different just because they live in a different country?

If you had said English women I would have said yes!! Ha ha. I would say that when it really matters we are true to our word, but everyday normal things we lie like the rest of 'em!!

No they are no better than other nations. Some are true but you must get to know them for a while before trusting them.
