I currently own a Yellow lab and a Rat Terrier

Growing up I owned a female buff colored american cocker spaniel. All are great breeds

Before deciding on a dog though, research the different breeds. Do you have a house or an apartment? Big yard or small yard? A lot of decisions and questions to be asked as different breeds although cute, are not for different peopel.

Good luck though finding a dog. Please don't forget to check animal shelters and pounds before buying from a breeder!

1. Puppy food
2. toys
3. chews like Dentabones
4. Comfy bed
5. Carrier cage
6. long leash and normal leash
7. harness
8. Collar & tags
9. Soft Biscits

And thats about it. Good Luck!

P.S. Get machine pressed chews, they are safest for all dogs.

I got a six foot leash. (eventually for obedience)
a flat buckle collar
nylabones they come in different sizes get the right size for your dog this helps with the chewing phase and will discourage chewing of wood, clothes, plastic etc.
a crate for crate training
toothbrush and toothpaste to help get puppy used to getting teeth brushed eventually you will really want their teeth clean
grooming brush
nail file to keep nails short and not have to use nail clippers
scyptic stic to stop bleeding if using nail clippers
puppy wipes to keep puppy clean without bathing and drying out skin

You'll probably want to get it chew toys but nothing so hard that it'll break his teeth. My old puppy loved to play with ropes. Chew bones are good too.

A golden retriever, although they are expensive, so I would recommend you get a rescue dog from a shelter or the humane society.
