But I want to hear your thots. If the words do not agree with the Bible I know God is not speaking. Sometimes it's a soft whisper,"Trust me" or "Read my Word." or "Tell me about it."It sounds like God, but maybe it's the pastor from last weeks sermon? It's not answers to questions. I have to ask for quidance and do the best common sense tells me trusting He'll give me the wisdom I need.

Actually, you've answered your own question. If you read the written word of God, and become very familiar with it, then you will not be easily fooled by something that is not from God. Of course, knowing God himself and making him your partner and best friend is the best way to know which thoughts come from him. Can't know God? Poppycock! Anyone can know him if they really want! The third chapter of John tells how. Good hunting!

There is only one way that God speaks to us directly today and that is through his holy inspired word, the Holy Bible. The only place we need to go to that we can trust 100% that it is God's word and God's will that we do. It is the only place to go to for guidance, wisdom, understanding, comfort, love, forgiveness, and salvation. There is no other way but God's way. His word will never pass away.
James 1:5,6,7,8,- If any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally, but let him ask in faith, not wavering.......

God will speak to us as you said. Through a song on the radio, the unsaved, authority figures, etc. Always use the Word of God to verify, just as you do!! God Bless!!!

Why do you limit God to the Bible? Do you not know anything about mental telepathy and telekinesis? God can do things beyond our imaginations. But, the Bible serves as like "lookn" said; the litmus test. (is it acidic or is it alkaline, or is it the pure word of God.)

Of course, Jesus said it best, when he said with God all things are possible.

God will never contradict His Word. That's the "litmus test".

If it's your own thoughts (spell check please) then that's really Satan using your thoughts. It's either Satan or God. Rebuke Satan in the name of Jesus Christ, then ask God if it was really Him. If you receive a positive response, then it was God.

If it is contrary to what the Bible says, it is not the truth.
That is the honest answer.

you know what i don't understand...
how come in thebible it said that god told abraham to kill his son, but when he got up there to do it, god suposedly stopped him and said he was just testing him. well how come other people kill their kids and they just go to jail. how come god doesn't stop them and say Oh i was just testing you?????
well, i think it's because it's all just made up by people who think they are bad. that's all that religion is. it's a group of people who think they are sooooooo bad that they need someone to come and "save them".
