In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

If you believe in a Satan like Milton's in Paradise Lost, yes he is a narcissist.
If you believe god is all forgiving and loving, then yes, he should forgive him. Especially since he created him.
But Satan was not human (he was a fallen angel) so could he have a human mental illness?
But I don't believe in Satan so the question's all just in good fun based on what previously written human idea of Satan has been read by you :)

a profound statement indeed. however, there is something to be said for a person that can get others to follow them. or maybe it was something to be said about the people that choose to follow. all the same. recorded history is only as it is has been chosen to be remembered, and most times bias in that aspect. basically im saying that jesus may not have used those exact words or in that exact context. to make a diagnosis on such a phrase would be not a diagnosis of jesus, but maybe a diagnosis of those that chose to remember him.

I don't think so, the devil I believe is the dark counterpart of God, who is the light. The devil is equal to God in a sort of way but in the end is inferior to the latter. That is what I believe in.

That's possible. Except, the fate of satan has been written. Will he repent, mental/personality disorders are treatable?

Do you not know that Satan is simply a bio-transfer robot from Planet H (Heaven). Does your car have a personality disorder?

Mine does.

The fallen angels will never be forgiven. They know what awaits them and want to take as many of us as they can. Their only sense of acomplishment will to hurt God as much as they can with what little time they have left!!

God offered him a cookie of forgiveness, but the devil's browser wouldn't accept cookies.

Maybe, and no. He denied God, demanded God's power and Glory, and intended to destroy the plan of mankind's freedom and agency. God will not forgive this, as agency and time are the two most important gifts mankind has.

I think that the disorder you mention is just made up and the true problem is self righteous arrogance. Arrogance is a member of the mental attitude sins.
Just my opinion.
Peace out.
