I was petting my Teils head for a little while after givving him a spray bath(he loves that) and he backed up and bobed his head up and down and tried to feed my finger.
I showed joy to him for doing that, I though it was quite sweet since he was very hard to tame.
Is there anything that would be bad about this?

I always call Cockateils Teils for some reason.
He is a grey Cockateil, who just turned 4 years yesterday.

This is very common between bird owners with their bird. In the wild a bonded pair of birds will feed each other, it is a sign of love.
Therefore your bird is offering you its food as a sing of love and bonding.

Hi there. I disagree because if the bird views you as a mate, many times unwanted behaviors follow. It has been known that the inappropriate bonding can lead to birds attacking ones friends and significant others. This may be a way the bird is protecting you. Just a different point of view. Have a nice day.

Your Teil as you call him is in his teen years and I would say he was trying to tell you he needs a mate to say nice things to, to feed and preen. They tend each other, and was returning the attention you were giving him. He needs a mate as early spring is mating time . He should be real happy if he has a mate that he loves. He may not accept the first one you find he may need to choose for himself.

i'm getting my syringes from Avitec. they have the small syringes as well as pipettes and small attachments to slot the length of the children mouth. once the children attain 2 weeks I purely use a higher hand feeding syringe. using syringes is often favourite over pipettes and not in any respect use a straw because you ought to scratch the contained in the children mouth. With the handfeeding syringes you could locate purely how a lot the child is eating (cc's). attempt PetCo or Petsmart.

well, feeding you is a way of showing you that he loves you, and that you are part of its flock. Its the ultimate sign of tenderness.
Birds do it when they are in 'love'. There is nothing bad about it, be thankful that your bird loves you! Eventually, when you bird is in heat (for a lack of better words) he might even try to hump your hand or parts of your body. It means he LOVES you!

Sounds like spring is in the air at your house. You don't have to do anything except distract him from that behavior.

there is nothing wrong with that. he would do that with his mate once he had bonded to her. he's showing you that he loves you.
