i mean comone its valentines and what if u dont have a pertner to have fun with. go out there and have fun with your frinds who are also dateless. even if its one just have fun. i am sick of hearing people saying they dont have a date. so what. u will eventually if not today. so why waste a special day? i am chossing not to date for a couple of reasons myself but i am happy.and will be with my friends soon. so go out there and have fun.

Its all media hype. Everyone sees the commercials on TV and the internet for Valentines Day sales, etc. I think you are wise and smart for being single. There is nothing wrong with it.

I have not really cared about Valentine's Day. I always look forward to the day after because that is when some stores sell the candy for 50% off. As for today, I basically had a nice lunch with some Freshman and took pictures of the snow that got me out of school for the second straight day.

So many people are miserable on Valentines Day. It's mostly because everyone's self confidence goes down when they're dateless and they feel unwanted and left out. I agree with you basically because you don't need a date 2 have fun you can just hang out with your friends and still have a good time

Some people don't feel depressed or sad because they don't have no one. They just feel left out of the magic of love couples have today. But I would go out with my friends and have fun, being single can be fun too. But some other people might be sad because some boy or girl broke up with them on Valentines Day!

I can sort of see where these dateless people are coming from. Valentine's is a day to celebrate love with that special person in your life. And I guess for the dateless ones that's kind of hard since their special person isn't theirs (yet). But also, I can't see why they can't have a good time with their friends. They're special, aren't they? <3

thats completely right and im sick of people complaining about 2 day or any other "bad time" not to hav a date ( including school dances and stuff like that ) im saying thats when u learn to appreciate ur friends and most of all get 2 kno urself a little bit more and appreciate urself - thats y im happy im single . i dont have that many single friends and some of them rub it in my face but at the end of the day i have a happier , better life then them cause i dont hav 2 dea with all that drama "y didn't he call me ?,he didn't say he loved me back " and all that stuff
so VAlentines day is not only 4 couples its for friends and family and most of all urself :)

You see others get flowers, and chocolates, and cards. You see some get nothing. Isn't it a little sad that some get love and others get nothing just because they had no one on this one stupid day of the year? Yeah, they should still have fun.
Personally, I would rather have my boyfriend surprise me on a random day, maybe one that was a bad day on. Maybe give my some flowers, or a card. It would make me feel more special that he did it because he loved me, and not that it was something he had to.

Im dateless, and I am not sad at all.....I'll be with someone when I really want to be.....plus most relationships never work out anyways lol, but Its great to see couples who love eachothers company!

People are sad because Valentines day is a romantic holiday. It is supposed to touch the heart. If the heart is lonely it is sad. People do all kinds of strange gestures to prove their love, hoping it all will bring them closer to the one they are with. Emotions enable people to do all kinds of things they would not normally do.
